Class 7- Fraction Puzzle Activity

Solving puzzles is an enjoyable activity for people of all ages, including students. In order to bring this excitement into the classroom, the students of class 7 were given a fraction puzzle along with a set of instructions to follow. The entire class was divided into groups of three, with each group receiving the same puzzle. The group that successfully solved the puzzle in the shortest amount of time emerged as the winner.

Brain Break Activity - Class VII

 

A “brain break” is an activity that takes us away from hard mental work and allows our brain and body to reset. 

Brain breaks allow young minds to reset and recharge. They replenish the attention, motivation, and energy levels needed to keep learning. 

Such a movement break activity was done in Class VII (Stage-8) after students completed the multistep problem related to mixed numbers (which involves subtraction, multiplication and estimation of mixed numbers). The students really enjoyed this brain break and it helped their mind to recharge and get ready for the next assignment. 

Class 6- Fraction Maze Activity

 

The students of Class VI (Stage-7) recapitulated the concept of multiplying fractions with the help of an interesting activity- 'Fraction Maze'. The maze was drawn on the floor and students have to solve the given multiplication problem to reach the end. 

The whole class was divided into two teams. Each team selected a representative of their respective teamd and rest of the team members guided the representative with the directions. They solved the problem and instructed him/her to move in a particular direction. The first team to reach at the end point of the maze, was the winner! 

The students really enjoyed this amazing maze activity. It helped them in doing the calculations faster, worked in a team and as a team.
