National Mathematics Day Celebration- Learning Zone

Happy National Mathematics Day Everyone!

The Cambridge Wing celebrated National Maths Day with great enthusiasm and zeal. The event was organized to commemorate the birth anniversary of the renowned Indian mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan. The celebration was centered around the theme of "Maths in Daily Life." Students from all the classes PS to VIII showcased an array of activities and projects that highlighted the importance of mathematics in our everyday lives.

The displays were thought-provoking and demonstrated how maths is intricately woven into our daily routines. The exhibits included:

- Menu cards crafted by solving various equations and simultaneous equations, illustrating the use of maths in pricing and nutrition facts.

- Cooking measurements and recipe scaling, demonstrating the application of maths in culinary arts

- Bill-splitting and financial management, showcasing the importance of maths in personal finance

- Architectural models and building designs, highlighting the crucial role of maths in construction and engineering

- Tile and floor designs, demonstrating the use of geometry and spatial reasoning

- Calendars and scheduling, illustrating the application of maths in time management and organization

- Shopping and budgeting, showcasing the importance of maths in making informed purchasing decision.

Students showcased a short role play on Ramanujan and displayed various Quiz, puzzles and mazes related to maths. These interactive displays not only tested the students' mathematical skills but also encouraged them to think creatively and develop problem-solving strategies. The students' presentations were impressive, and their enthusiasm was contagious. The event served as a reminder that maths is not just a subject in school, but an essential tool that we use in various aspects of our lives.
