Class VI: Unfolding The Magic of Surface Area

In a fun-filled math class, our Class VI students discovered the secret to calculating the surface area of a cuboid

Students sketched all 6 rectangular faces of a cuboid in their notebooks. Then, they filled each face with unit squares, making sure to cover every corner without overlapping. After filling all 6 faces, they counted the unit squares for each rectangle and added them up to find the total surface area.

This hands-on activity helped students visualize the different faces of a cuboid and understand how to calculate its surface area. By counting the unit squares, they derived the formula for surface area in a way that was both fun and memorable.

This engaging activity enabled students to grasp the concept of surface area of a cuboid with ease. It was a great way to make math more interactive, enjoyable, and apply this knowledge in real-life situations!
