The learners of Class VI understood the concept of simplifying the fractions before multiplying them and simplifying the fractions after multiplication through various examples.
In both the cases, answer remains the same.
It's easy to first cancel out the common factors in numerator and denominator before multiplying them. However, we can also simplify the fraction at the end.
